The Tuxedo is a classic formal wear outfit that originated in the late 19th century. It was first introduced to America in 1860 in Tuxedo Park, New York - from where it derived it's name. The Tuxedo was initially designed as a less formal alternative to the tailcoat, which was the standard formal wear of the time. The first Tuxedo jackets were made of wool and featured a black satin lapel. Over time, the Tuxedo has evolved, with new styles and materials being introduced. Today, the Tuxedo remains a popular choice for formal events such as weddings, galas, and black-tie affairs.

The classic tuxedo has never gone out of style, though today there are many variations - all of which you can find at Accent Bridal & Tux.

Absolutely looking forward to the Wichita Bridal Expo this weekend, July 29th & 30th at Century II downtown. Always great to meet so many prospective brides out there and get to showcase our fabulous bridal lines and tuxedos. This year we’ll be featuring a daring black wedding gown for the bride that wants to break all the rules, along with an equally spectacular black paisley jacket that we recently showed off in a styled photoshoot at Hidden Cedars venue.

As we always do for the summer expo we will be featuring a “Fall Tux Special”, offering big discounts off suit and tuxedo rental packages if you book before the end of this year. Look forward to seeing you there!
